Welcome back to YOW Pit Stop, our special series created to give you a deeper look into our products and to try solve all the possible doubts you may have.
For the 3rd installment we brought our riders Hortense Boudet, Lenart Oblak, Luca Lütkebohle, Pau Fuentes and Jan Bein to Barcelona and took 24 of our favorite boards with us for a week of non-stop surfskating in some of the best spots the city has got to offer, in order to get their board insights and preferences and have some fun on the way.
Each of the riders chosen for this project has got a slightly different background, riding style and preferences:
Hortense comes from a dancing background and loves longer boards. Her riding style fusions her passions and adds a bit of surfing in the mix, always with a lot of style.
Lenart is a snowboarder, has skated most of his life and has got a very creative approach to surfskating. He's also got one of the most smooth styles we have seen.
Luca is an engineer, surfs for many years and he's probably one of the most (if not the most) entertaining and creative people we know on top a surfskate. His approach is radical, yet very creative and technical and he mostly rides the Christenson Skalle 34" with our Eki wheels 60x40mm 101a.
Pau has skated most of his life, surfs as much as he can and is well known for being an incredible surfskate and overall body-movement specialist and coach. Famous for his didactic tutorials and near-perfect surfskate maneuvers.
Jan started surfing almost before he could even talk and although he was born and raised in Barcelona (not so well-known for its waves), he's now competing at a very high level. He started skaboarding from a very young age and now combines both disciplines (skate and surfskate) always bringing a bit of both worlds to the other. By the way, he skates goofy, and surfs regular.
Our amiga Paola Flores, incredible local skater from Barcelona, joined us for the last bit of the shooting to try our Surf Cruisers around the city.
