Collection: Surfskates

Enjoy our selection of complete Surfskates, mounted with the patented Meraki Surfskate System. Especially designed for mimicking and practicing surfing moves inland.

Choose S4 Meraki for kids and –50kg adults, and S5 Meraki for people over 50kg.

The wheelbase (distance between trucks) is an important feature to take into account.  The closer one truck is from the other, the more reactive and dynamic the riding feeling of the surfskate will be.

Take your surfing wherever you go and no more flat days!

All you need to know about Surfskates

  • Can the tightness of the YOW system be adjusted?

    No, unfortunately.

    Many YOW users commit the mistake of overtightening the Kingpin nut in order to make their surfskate less reactive and more steady. Doing so impedes the horizontal rebound of the YOW system and can definitely damage the inner elements of the system.

    You have a little video here showing how tight the Kingpin nut must be for the system to function correctly.

    This being said, you can affect the riding sensation by changing the surfskate's bushings and pivot cups' hardness. Playing with your deck's wheelbase will directly affect how the YOW system reacts too.
  • Do YOW Surfskates require maintenance?

    YOW Surfskates come out of our factory ready to use.

    However, with a correct maintenance, your YOW material can considerably extend its useful life and even prevent accidents.

    You can see our PIT STOP video about the surfskates to see how to do a correct maintenance of our surfskates.
  • Could someone over 50kg use the S4 system? And, could someone under 50kg use the S5 system?

    Yes! There’s no impediment.

    However, bear in mind that for people over 50kg riding a S4 system might be challenging. Certain technique and previous experience is needed to enjoy the S4 system as a +50kg adult.

    Likewise, people under 50kg can perfectly use the S5 system for extra stability. In this case, generating motion can be harder than with a S4 system.

    In the end, it all comes to personal preference and our recommendations are just a guide, one that suit most of the rider's needs though.
  • Can you place a S4 Spring in a S5 system, and vice versa?

    No, the springs are not interchangeable between the different models of the system.

    4mm springs only fit in S4 systems and 5mm springs only fit in S5 systems.

    The inside of each model is designed to hold a specific spring thickness. For this reason, a different spring wouldn’t fit correctly.

    Earlier versions of our system (V1, V2) admitted interchangeable springs that were put in place through vertical ends. From the V3 on, the springs were modified to have horizontal ends, making them not exchangeable for the sake of durability.
  • What is the difference between the S4 and the S5 systems?

    The S refers to the Spring that is inside of the system. The number refers to the thickness of the spring, expressed in millimeters.

    S4 = 4mm Spring.

    S5 = 5mm Spring.

    We usually recommend the S4 system for kids and adults people who weigh less than 50 kg, or adults searching for a super reactive ride.

    The S5 system is more steady and recommended for those who weigh more than 50 kg.
