YOW & The Paddle Paddle Surf Project together alongisde French artist “Madi” to raise funds for the Nigeria Surfing Federation.
Whilst previous editions touched intriguing subjects for the human kind, this year’s Artist Series tries to bring awareness and raise funds for Nigeria’s surfing community. The board – designed by MADI – reflects the French artist’s very own and spontaneous imaginary, result of her continuous graphic research and deep observation of her surroundings.
Founded on 2018, The Paddle Paddle Surf Project has been dedicated to collecting, repairing and redistributing surfboards to places with low resources – to make surfing accessible for as many people as possible. They see surfing and art as powerful tools to improve people’s mental and physical health and strive to steer surfing towards a future that is more in tune with social and environmental issues such as equal access to resources, gender equality or sustainability. Ever since they started, they have led projects in Indonesia, Morocco, Colombia, Brazil, Sri Lanka and Ghana, distributing hundreds of surfboards and talking through many topics with surf communities around the world. Starting this year, they have put their focus on Nigeria, aiming to uplift it’s first Surfing Federation’s development and seeking to inspire as many people as possible to strengthen the community.

The YOW x Paddle Paddle x Madi is a limited edition board and will be available only until the 14th of November at 11am CET. 20% of the profits will be given to The Paddle Paddle Surf Project to continue developing the Nigeria Surfing Federation and bringing the necessary tools to it’s surfing community.
